EBay Is An Online Marketing Site

EBay was created in September 1995 by a man called Pierre Omidyar. This online marketplace was one of the first websites of its kind in the world. The site was originally named AuctionWeb. The name ‘eBay’ came from the domain Omidyar used for his site. His company’s name was Echo Bay. The first thing ever sold on eBay was Omidyar’s broken laser pointer for $14.

Rather quickly EBay became incredibly popular. Sellers began listing all sorts of odd things and buyers actually bought them. The site almost ran itself. EBay had been designed from the start to collect a small fee on each sale. The fees quickly added up to more than Omidyar’s current salary. He decided to quit his job and work on the site full-time. It was at this point, in 1996, that he added the feedback facilities, to let buyers and sellers rate each other and make buying and selling safer.

In 1997, Omidyar changed AuctionWeb’s name to eBay and the one-millionth item was sold. He spent a lot of money on advertising and had the eBay logo designed.

People started selling more than just collectibles and in 1998 eBay became big business. Quickly becoming a massive site where you could sell anything, large or small.

EBay went worldwide in 1999. In the UK, Australia and Germany sites were launched. EBay bought half.com, an Amazon-like online retailer, in the year 2000. The same year it introduced Buy it Now. It bought PayPal in 2002.

Pierre Omidyar, who still serves as Chairman of the Board, has now earned an estimated $3 billion from eBay. All over the world, millions of items are bought and sold every day on eBay. It is estimated that $14 is spent on eBay for every $100 spent online worldwide.

Now that you know the history of eBay, are you wondering if eBay could be the right business opportunity for you? People all over the world are making great money from eBay. Many people are making thousands of dollars per month. Even if you don’t want to quit your job and really go for it, you can still use eBay to make a good second income.

It doesn’t matter who you are, your age, where you live, or what you look like. EBay tears down the barriers to earning that the real world constantly puts up. You don’t need a job interview and you can forget the commute. If you can post things, you can do it. There is always someone who wants what you’re selling. Since they have come looking for you, you don’t even need to do anything to get them to buy it.

Making A Living On Ebay

If you have ever tried to sell your work on the incredibly competitive and crowded pages of Ebay, your fast answer to the above question may be no. But don’t be so quick to respond. If you keep these few things in mind , you may have a successful pink diamond earrings jewelry business on Ebay. Up until just recently, I sold my jewelry designs completely on Ebay. And, as with any business, with an Ebay business, you need to have a business plan. The percentages are against you on Ebay if you simply make a few pieces, list them, and hope for the best. Your possibilities are better if you spend enough time to develop a serious inventory of many types of items that show your individual style. After all you will only have one chance with an Ebay buyer… If they visit your auctions, and you have just a couple of not related items on sale, they may never come back. But , on the other hand, if they see a pleasant inventory of things that they’d like to buy, they can bookmark your store.

To start of with, eBay needs all users to register. When an ebay seller start selling their items, the purchaser of that item will leave feedback. If you have provided an acceptable service which you need to then you may receive positive feedback from the buyer. This can then help you to become validated and you may gain a certain amount of trust with other buyers in the future. Before an eBay buyer purchases they can view a members feedback and see the share of satisfied shoppers before making the choice to engage in an exchange.

Fundamentally, eBay permits folks wanting to dispense with items or sell merchandise to reap the greatest possible benefit by offering the whole country ( and even lots in international locations ) to bid on the item for sale, just as they would at a physical auction. At the same time, buyers can review an item and decide themselves how much they are willing to pay to buy the item. A buyer will set their own price ( which must at least meet the minimum request set by the seller ), and the highest bidder wins the item.

There are a number of payments options available, cash orders are accepted by the majority of ebay sellers, some will accept assistant and personal checks. Though the preferred form of payment will almost always be eBay’s paypal service. This will permit buyers to pay with either their debit or credit card and by electronic check. Once payment is formed the money is instantly deposited into the sellers account and it can then be used in the future to pay for eBay costs and other items online or can be withdrawn to the folks deposit account to spend as they wish.

You must understand that you’ll not become rich selling handmade jewellery on Ebay! I usually felt that what I averaged per piece on Ebay was like wholesale costs. But – let’s admit it – if you’re selling thru stores that resell your work, you won’t be making retail on your work either. Plus, you will be running around, schlepping your work, and most likely leaving it on shipment with shops. After all , wholesale on ebay is pretty good when you’re ready to work from home, list the things you want and make your own hours doing something you love! The biggest mistake jewelry sellers on ebay make is to step into it too casually. You must have a certain quantity of patience, and understand that there will be up-front expenses that may not come back to you immediately. ( In what other business venture would we are expecting such a thing? ). If you take the time to study Ebay, watch what the successful sellers are doing and develop your own inventory and a method – you can be successful on Ebay!

Social Marketing Explained

Marketing socially is a new method that enables you to promote your business and describe your products and services using the internet, blogs, social networking sites, and social media. Many advantages exist for social marketing and they include the ability to create relationships with customers.

Be open to try new things. When you talk to people who have blogs, don’t push your product, just be honest and tell them that you are wanting to have them review your page and see if they are interested. If they are they will take a look and then start to review your site and then if people like what they see, they will tell other people. And then your company will grow.

The more often people hear your product’s name the more likely they are to remeber it in the future. However, since the way users view your brand will greatly influence how well your marketing campaign will work, you will want them to think of positive experiences. You can help this by making funny videos or articles, offering helpful content or making competitions based on your product. If you utilze the right skills social marketing can help alot when establishing a new brand or enforcing knowledge of an existing brand.

Bloggers and web designers are commonly looking for interesting content they can use on their web sites. If you are able to give them quality articles they may begin using them on their sites. With this method you can create thousands of hyperlinks to your web site with every article you write. Popular articles are capable of being read by many bloggers that would like to comment.

When you gain potential customers on our site, remember to be open and honest and if the customers have questions or concerns, be there to answers any questions they may have. And answers the questions in a timely manner. Don’t ignore your customers. Because this will turn them away from you and this will give you negative feedback and that could spell trouble for you.

Since social marketing only costs you your time, a single sale is a good return on your investment. If you have limited means, using a social media could be the best way to market your product due to the low cost of their services.

Lastly, social marketing perhaps offers its biggest advantage in it being “do it yourself” without any need for outsourcing. A computer literate individual with an internet connection can leverage the multitude of social networking sites available to market a product or service.
